The Barrel of this shotgun retracts 3" when it automatically loads the next shell into the chamber. The shotgun, when found was fully loaded with three rounds. What was Kurt Going to do with the other two rounds if he was just killing himself?
Kurt bought the shotgun on March 30th 1994, The reciept to the shotgun was found in his jacket pocket at the crime scene. Kurt purchased the gun with Dylan Carlson, a close friend. Kurt told Dylan he was afraid of intruders at this house. The gun was registered in Dylans name at Kurts request. Most likely because all of Kurts other guns had been confiscated by police.
The purchase price of the gun was $308.37. Around the Time the gun was purchased Courtney and Kurt hadnt been getting along. They were talking about divorce, Kurt did not want to tour or perform anymore. According to Courtney he was walking away from a $9.5 million dollar contract to headline the Lollapalooza tour. Walking out on the Lollapalooza tour was a buisness decision that would cost others a great deal of money also. Tom Grant has reason to beleive that Kurt may have been intimidated into beleiving his life would be in danger if he failed to do the tour.
